Machinist Level 1

Department: Production

Supervisor/Title: Department supervisor

  2. A machinist level one has the ability to set-up and operate multiple machines with in close tolerances.

  3. Duties and responsibilities
  1. Set-up machines which include CNC programming
  2. Operation of machines within close tolerances
  3. Adjustment and sharpening of tools as required
  4. Instruct operators and level two machinists on operating procedures
  5. The employee may be required to follow other job-related instructions to perform other job related duties as requested.

  1. Direct control of production of acceptable parts.
  2. Must perform within acceptable efficiency guidelines.
  3. Must perform to acceptable quality standards.
  1. Job authority

A machinist level one is selected by the Manufacturing Manager of Technical Machining Services, Inc., and has the authority from and is accountable to the department supervisor. May instruct other people if required by the Department Supervisor.

  2. The department supervisor is responsible for the training and direction of the machinist level one in his department.

    Quality assurance Manager is responsible for training in regard to inspection procedure.

  3. Job qualifications

Education/Experience:

+ High school graduate.

+ 5 years experience in set-up, CNC programming and machine operation.

 

Skills:

+ Working knowledge of shop math

+ CNC Programming

+ Machine set-up

+ Ability to read blueprints

+ Ability to use calibrated tooling and understand what a calibrated tool means.
